Morgan’s Story

Wendy was able to sit down recently with a foster and adoptive parent who shared with her the story of how Royal Family KIDS Camp made it possible for her to adopt her daughter, Morgan.

Morgan was placed with this family when she was 9 years old and the first few weeks were almost like a honeymoon. But that facade simply cannot last. That’s because children who are in foster care are there because they have been through unspeakable trauma.

That trauma always comes out in some way and there was no way Morgan could keep up those kinds of behaviors forever.

When Morgan’s foster mom heard about Royal Family KIDS Camp she immediately signed her up. Morgan had the time of her life at camp that week and came back with a new light in her eyes. She was able to absorb the love of God and the love of other people in a way that led her to be ready for adoption by this family.

As you can imagine, there is much more to Morgan’s story and to this family’s story. Foster families show unconditional love day-after-day. They are caring for kids who have experienced unimaginable trauma and they stick with it … sometimes for life, through adoption!
